I became interested in the rehabilitation and prevention of injuries at a young age when he competed as a semi-professional sportsman. Always sustaining little niggles but being fortunate enough to avoid anything serious I began to appreciate the importance of effective treatment and rehabilitation.
Upon the completion of my degree, I was able to gain vital experience at a football club in Australia whilst also providing massage therapy to the Australian cricket team.
On return to the UK, I gained further employment within professional football at Macclesfield Town FC and Oldham Athletic FC. Fully qualified personal trainer with a BA (hons) from Durham University in Sports exercise and Physical activity and a level 3 Sports massage therapist. I got into the fitness and keeping fit when I was kicked by a horse in the leg, and my rehab was on the rowing machine. This led to me being scouted by Olympic oarswomen Anna Bebbington.
I believe that balance in life is everything and that being healthy and well goes a long way to promote that. I offer personal training and conditioning for all exercise abilities with a hands on approach specialising in sports rehabilitation for those who are struggling with post and current injuries. I have been a Personal trainer for over 10 years after completing a degree in Sports therapy in Preston. My specialist areas are pre & postnatal, sports rehab and weight loss.
My focus in the gym is to get you to enjoy training and being active, with a mix of strength training and circuits. I focus on simple nutrition, making it fit within your lifestyle and family life.
Outside of the gym, I enjoy competing in triathlons, camping, hiking and binge-watching box sets. These are generally done with my dog Poppy, who I spend way too much time talking about.

My name is Angela. I started my successful business Alternatives Therapy Ltd 8 years ago providing Counselling, Life Coaching, Crystal Healing and Reiki to clients. It seemed natural to qualify as a Yoga Teacher, which I love.
I expanded my Yoga practice to qualify as a Yin Yoga Teacher, using props in postures to hold for 5 minutes restoring connective tissue, assisting individual clients with PTSD and insomnia. At Poynton Fitness I teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga, rhythmically combing postures with breath, mind and body to assist students become focused, flexible, strong and healthy. I have a reputation as being hard core, albeit my classes cater for all.

I use fluid creative vinyasa flows to help release tension, build strength, balance and harmony within the body and mind. My practices are challenging yet accessible for all.
Alongside vinyasa, restorative yoga is also my passion. Hi, I am a certified yoga instructor qualified in teaching Hatha Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. I am also qualified in teaching trauma-informed yoga.
I teach classes in Vinyassa, Dynamic Flow, Slow Flow, Power, Restorative and Yin yoga at yoga studios, health clubs, schools, and corporates. My yoga practice focuses on combining breathing techniques, movement and meditation to make each class both a great workout and a spiritual journey.
At Poynton Fitness I specialise in Slow Flow (Hatha Vinyasa) which offers a sequence of flowing postures linking breath and movement where the postures are held for longer than in dynamic classes. This gives time to achieve correct body alignment, to build strength and to improve flexibility. Holding postures also enables better connection of movement to breath and improves fluidity bringing a virtuous cycle of continual improvement. It is generally more challenging than moving more rapidly through postures.
As well as flowing movement the classes include breathing exercises and meditation to cement the links between breath, mind and body and to ensure the full yoga experience. Each class ends with a full savasana.
Aside from general benefits, including weight-loss and improved strength & flexibility, participants find the benefits of my classes include improved digestion, sleep, calmness and mental focus.

Having served 22 years in the Royal Navy as a chef and running my own business I decided I needed a change of lifestyle. Being a keen triathlete and fitness fanatic, joining the fitness industry was the obvious next step for me.
I am passionate about helping people achieve the lifestyle transformation they need for a healthy mind, body and wellbeing. I focus on all round fitness, specialising in circuits and group work outs where my military background is put to good use.
